My wife Nancy and I are new to the genealogy game and welcome any assistance you might give us. NANCY BISHOP PALMER is descended from purely southern United States families, including:BISHOP, MOORE, GRANTHAM, ARNOLD and TISDALE lines, derived from Mississippi and Tennessee with tangents in Alabama, Georgia and Texas.We have considerable information going back to the 1790s, but it is spotty and some is a bit 'shakey' as well.
PAUL CHARLES PALMER is descended from various British nationalities on his father's side: PALMER, DAVIDSON, BRYANT and TOLLE. They were frontier people, including 'Boomers' and 'Sooners' and at least one authentic Civil War hero.
His maternal ancestors were all German, all the first generation coming to America between 1848 and 1853 -- proud 'Forty-eighters,' all settled in western Illinois before the Civil War. Family names include: STOCKEL, BUSSMAN, LANGHORST, and SCHOB (or SCHOAB).
We want to find out all we can of our ancestors and collateral relations back to the boat that brought them to North America.
We have some information and photos, including some we cannot positively identify, which we will be happy to share with any other researcher of our family.
