The Maria Elisabetha Mohr Home Page
This page is dedicated to my immigrant ancestor, Maria E. Mohr, born 1848, came to NYC in 1873. I have traced her lineage back to the late 1500s in dozens of towns and villages in a region of Hesse, Germany known as the Odenwald. Towns my ancestors lived in include: Erbach, Lauerbach, Ebersberg, Dorf Erbach, Wurzberg, Michelstadt, Zell, (Bad) Konig, Langenbrombach, Kirchbrombach, Momart, Weitengesass, Eulnbach, Bockenrod, Rohrbach, Reichelsheim, Gross Gumpen, Klein Gumpen, Frankisch-Crumbach, Erzbach, Beerfelden, Untersensbach, Frohnhofen. Names of direct ancestors being researched include: Biedermann, Blumenschein, Burckhart, Flechsenhaar, Gempeler, Gottman, Gotz, Hartmann, Heilmann, Hering, Hoffman, Horn, Ihrig, Jacobi, Kauffmann, Keil, Langbein, Laupf, Lehr, Leutemann, List, Marquart, Meister, Mohr, Mueller, Muller, Naas, Nicolai, Old, Pfeiffer, Reinhardt, Schimpf, Schneider, Schueler, Seibert, Stockheimer, Trautmann, Trumpfheller, Walther, Weber Of the above names, some are fairly unique to the area, including Ihrig and Trumpfheller. I have been researching some of these names for 10 years, and have amassed a great deal of info. I am also interested in the Troutman/Trautmann (primarily North Carolina, Rowan County) and Drumheller (Trumpfheller) families (PA, VA, WA, MT, MO)in the United States. I am also trying to tie into the Naas family of New Brunswick, founded by Johann Christopher Naas in the 1700s. If you have any info on these places or families, please contact me and we can compare notes. | The Maria Elisabetha Mohr Home Page Updated September 5, 2000 |
