The modern (year 2000) town of Dammareez was called Damretz in the Vellahn Parish Church Book and was called gut Dammeretz in the 1867 census.The spelling is very clear in both these records.

COLBO FUNERAL THURSDAY P. M.
Brief Services at Paschen Home Followed by Services at Francesville
Brief funeral services for Mrs. Anna Colbo, mother of William Paschen, will be held from the Paschen home at 12:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, after which the funeral cortege will go to Francesville, where services will be held at the Lutheran cemetery.
Mrs. Colbo's death occurred at 4:10 Tuesday morning at the Paschen home, where she had been making her home this winter.She had been bedfast for ten months and for the past week and a half her condition had been critical.She was 88 years of age.
The deceased was twice married, her first husband, William Paschen, having passed away in 1881.After some time, she married John Colbo and to this union one son was born.Mr. Colbo died 8 years ago and for the past four years Mrs. Colbo has been making her home with her sons.Prior to this time she had been residing in the Francesville community.
She is survived by three sons, William Paschen of near this city, Henry Paschen of Logansport and Geo. Colbo of Baker, Montana.Twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren survive.

MRS JOHN COLBO
The death of Mrs. Anna Colbo, long a well known resident of Francesville, occurred Tuesday morning at the home of a son, William Paschen, north of Monticello, at the age of eighty-eight years.She had been bedfast for about ten months and her condition was critical for nearly two weeks.
Mrs. Colbo was born in Germany and had been married twice.Her first husband, William Paschen, died in 1881.She was later married to John Colbo, who passed away about eight years ago.Surviving are the son William, and also sons Henry Paschen of Logansport, and George Colbo of Baker, Montana.There are also twenty grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Salem Evangelical church in Francesville, with interment there.

Anna's brother, Fred, came over first to avoid army service;then Johann, wife and son Henry came and settled on a farm 1 mile east of Monticello (later owned by Leslie Paschen);Anna and husband William Paschen and sons William and Henry and daughter Emma came over next (1881) and lived with her parents.Then others (Sophia and Dora) followed.The Brandts did not know the Kolbows in Germany.

" After her first husband died, Anna worked in the Mc Queg Hotel in Monticello.One day she had her fortune told by a gypsy lady who told her to watch for the first man to cross the Monticello bridge with a team of white horses and that she would marry this man.She saw John Colbo with the white team and married him.She had never seen him before."
