|Our research started about forty-five years ago when it entailed|
visiting village clergy and talking them into delving into parish records for us-----not always welcome with a bored todler in tow ! We soon found that the more names that came to light ,the more difficult it became. We think that the name probably originated from people who had travelled from Passenham in Northants, the earliest of whom we've found appears in the medaeval records of the New Forest. The problem is there are so many James,Williams and Daniels !!
