|I am researching the Mc Kenney and Nold families of Calhoun Co., Illinois.|
James McKinney born abt. 1817 and his wife Louisa born abt. 1830, both born in Kentucky, were found in Missouri in 1846 when their first son was born. They had two sons William and George, both born in MO.The family was living in Mississippi Township, Pike Co. MO at the time of the 1850 census. The only record found of George, born 1850, is the 1850 census record. This is the earliest record we have of the McKinney family.
By 1859 James Mckinney was deceased and his widow Louisa married George Woods in Lincoln Co., MO.They were absent in the 1860 census.William McKenney was found living with the Calvert family that census.
William McKinney married Elizabeth Jenkins in Lincoln Co., Mo and they had one son James, born in 1866.William died shortly there after.Elizabeth and son were found living with Jenkins family in 1870.Elizabeth remarried to Loyell Young in 1871.We have no family record from then until James McKenney married Laura Blanch Nold in 1889 in Calhoun Co., IL.We have an old family photograph with the notation on the back "The Boyd family that raised James McKenney".
Malchoir Nold emmigrated from Germany about 1846 with two brothers.Malchior served in the Spanish American War and received a land grant which he later used for property in Calhoun Co., Illinois.I am told that the descendants of his two brothers Jasper and John live in Tennessee.Malchoir married widow Jane Shaw Moffitt abt. 1865. Jane had a daughter, Ellen Margaret Moffitt.Malchoir and Jane had two daughters and one son; Louisa Cecilia Nold, Laura Blanch Nold and Wm. H. Nold.
