|I am a decendant of Anderson/Moss and Curtis/Lappe/Schmidt.I am researching my ancestors in hope to fill in blanks and add to a book the "History of Maries County".The author is Everett King. His daughter Katheryn Louise King holds the copyright to it and recently died I was told. She declined to give up the rights of the book so the Historical Society could republished it, when she was alive. The original version dates back to the Civil War, and the Curtis' were left out. There are two additions believe to be in existance. Some of the names in my family and in the book are: Anderson, Moss, Curtis, Lappe, Schmidt, Coffee, Stephens,Cansler,Orr, Petty, Helton, and Boone. I have put together a tree consisting of over 900 names-a few are not blood, but related by marriage. Please feel free to contact me with any updated or error information on the family tree. I am married with a son and daughter. There is a book available on the MossCurtis side that dates back to the Civil War by a relative. There are lineage dates back to the 500's of what I have read so far. Contact me for more info. |
Added NOTE:The Historical Society of Maries County, in Vienna, MO; has republished this book in paperback-spiral bound for easier cost to those interested for about 20 dollars.
