I am researching the Perry FamilyI am willing to share all the information I have!My father was Dean Goss Perry B: 8 Dec, 1917 (Mondovi, WI) D: 29 Dec 1967 (Eleva, WI) married (Suspect a shotgun wedding??) to Amy Margaret Olson in Decorah,Iowa 1942.She was orphaned & there is little info on her.All the information is VERY suspect they say her parents were Henry Olson & Tillie Evenson although she was cared for by Gust & Alice Insteness in Independence, WI. He had a brother Reid Llewellyn B: 28 June 1922 who married Delores Hilder Hoag 22 Jun 1946 & a sister June Edwina B: 1 March 1920 who married Alton Roy Nyseth 0n 25 July 1939.Dean was the son of Edward A (Eddie) Perry B: 6 Dec 1894 (Trempleau County WI) D:24 Aug 1968 (Mondovi, WI)who married Arvilla Corrine Goss B:9 Mar 1894 D:18 Jun 1951 (Mondovi, WI)Her parents were Noble Goss & Clara Halvorson.From the "Perry Family History, History of Buffalo & Pepin County, WI"looks like an excerpt fm a book - 'Willaim Perry, a pioneer settler of Buffalo county, who did his part in helping to develop the natural resources of Maxville and Naples townships, was born in Kentucky (have no idea where) 18 Jan 1825 son of William & Elsie Perry.On 11 May 1848 he married Elizabeth, daughter of James & Martha (Poe) Mitchell, of Southern Indiana, where she was born 12 April 1832.In the same year Mr. Perry came with his wife to Walworth county, WI, driving with ox & horse team, the trip occupyiing three weeks.In 1849 they (?re?)moved to Sauk county and in 1853 to Buffalo county, locating in Burnside valley, Maxville township, where Mr. Perry bought 40 acres of wild land & built a log house.They were very poor, but both worked and in time managed to improve their condition, residing on their farm in Maxville township until 1888, with the exception of one year spent in Minnesota. When they moved it was to Naples township, Buffalo county, on what is now the Wesley Goss farm, six miles east of Mondovi, where Mr. Perry resided until his death, May 22, 1893.In the following year his widow moved to Trempleau county, but returned to Buffalo county in 1901 & has since lived with her son, Clinton, a mile & a half east of Mondovi.Their children were as follows: Martha E., born in Saulk county, WI, May 21, 1849, who is now Mrs.Henry Kramer of Oregon: Catherine, born in Sauk county, March 23, 1851 who is the wife of Rodney Hurlburt, of Sheldon, WI.: Mary L., born in Sauk county, Oct 15,1857, who married George Schofield of Maxville Prarie and died Feb 7, 1913; Thomas H., now a prosperous farmer of Naples township, Buffalo county, who was born Nov 5, 1859; James M., born in Maxville township, June 11,1862, now a resident of Eau Claire, WI.; Frances O., born in Minnesota, Jan 28, 1865, who married Otto Espen and died March 23, 1889; Milton J., & Mina, twins, who were born in Maxville township, Sep 23, 1867, of whom Milton is now living in Trempleau county & Mina is the wife of John Lampman, of Lance Valley, Sasktchewan; Clinton, born in Maxville township, March 29, 1870, who now resides inNaples township, & Issac W., born in Maxville township, who is now in Eleva, WI.My brothers are Jon Reid & William Dean Perry.Anyone that can provide additional info it will be very much apprciated. | |
