I am researching the Murray family originally from central Ohio. The earlist Murray (Samuel) first appears in the 1780s according to "Early History of the Peters Creek Valley and the Early Settlers" page 40 by Noah Thompson. According to Mr. Thompson Sam was the first settler in the town of Library PA and had three sons (Samuel, George, and John) and one sister Mrs. Armstrong. No additional information was avaible from this source concerning Sam's ancestors or desents. I'm researching my husbands family (Perlee). The earlist member of the Perlee's I have found was provided by one of my husbands cousin's sons who claims to have searched the family back through Great Britain to Norway. The first Perlee in the USA appears to have been John Perlee (b1756-d1811) brother of General Edmund Perlee and husband of Fannie Smith (no dates). One of their sons, namely Smith Perlee (b1797-d1850) married Fannie Kuhn (b1807-d1891) and they had nine children one of which was Sylvester Perlee (b1845-d1918) who married Mary Ham in 1851. They had nine children one of which was my husband's grandfather Edgar Perlee (b1869-d1928?). The Perlee's seem to have originated in German Town NY. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. | |
