John Arthur Perazzo | Bessie L. Sperry Perazzo has filled in as many blanks as she knew on the Continuous Family Genealogy which her father, Fred A. Sperry began in 1905.This filling in the blanks continued until Bessie's death in 1972.I have inherited the book and am filling in the blanks as far as I know and am able to find. James Carleton Arms began his outline "The Continuous Family Genealogy" in 1898 in Hartford, Conn. From the introduction (in 1898): —— THE prevailing interest in Ancestral History, stimulated largely by the various Patriotic Societies, has caused extensive genealogical research, with a corresponding desire among intelligent people for information relating to their family ancestry. In supplying this information the few well kept family records of former generations are now of priceless value.Upon such records is based much of the knowledge so eagerly sought and freely disseminated by historical and genealogical societies. ======= Here's a question for personal reflection.Where do you keep important papers, documents and records? ------- I am concerned about the sensitive nature of a genealogy and the information so openly shared with anyone in the world. For this reason, I have sought to conceal the identities of those still living. This has not been altogether successful.I would like to present the book as G'ma Perazzo prepared it, but I wonder now if I should only present the Sperry line. This was her primary interest.
