I am researching the families and background of JOHN PERREAU b:1785 in London, a Tailor of French Huguenot descent who married twice, producing 15 children. He first married ELIZABETH CHAPMAN b:1788 on 26 Nov 1809: 2nd marriage was to MARGARET GRIFFITHS b:1791 on 3 Oct 1830, their sons JOHN ALFRED, FREDERICK GRIFFITHS, emigrated to New Zealand in the 1800's. Another brother EDWARD CHARLES PERREAU remained in England. His son later also emigrated to New Zealand. John Perreau was my great-great-grandfather, and I descend from John Alfred Perreau. The descendants of these 3 brothers are now spread throughout New Zealand, Australia and UK. Other names of interest are PERREAUX, DIACON, Le CRUSE or CRUSE, AYLETT, McKEOWN, McNAUGHT, MORGAN, REYNOLDS, ANDERSEN, and many more who have married into family lines, and combine a mix of nationalities such as French, English, Irish, Scottish, Norwegian, Welsh, Maori. I will appreciate any help or information I can get, whether specifically connected to these families, or just of general interest and knowledge relating to the PERREAU name and any events in history involving them, and the Huguenots John's forebears were members of. I would like also to learn who John's parents were, and when their family left France and from where. I am also willing to share any information I already possess.
