Obituary Morgan Messenger, Thursday, 10 Feb 1944: Carl F. Zamzow, Several relatives went to St. James Monday to attend the funeral of Carl Fredrich Zamzow, who passed away Thursday at the St. James Hospital at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 15 days.Services were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church there by Rev. Birkholz, pastor, Monday. The body was brought to Morgan and interred in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Zamzow Jr, Ivan Zamzow, Edward Juberian, Edmund Zamzow, Eldon Engel, and George Lange Jr, Honorary pallbearers, grandsons of the deceased, and Glenn Zamzow. Carl F. Zamzow was born in Pommern, Germany, October 18, 1859. He immigrated to the United States in 1883, settling at Nicollet. On May 18, 1888, he was united in marriage to Emilie Dallmann, with whom he moved to a farm in Three Lakes Township, near Morgan. Here seven children were born to them, namely, Henry of Morgan, Elmer Clements, Alma, Mrs. Louise Juberian, Mankato, Lydia, Mrs. William Engel, Morgan, Elsie, Mrs. George Lange, Mankato, Ester, Mrs Hugo Lange, Morgan. There are 29 grand children. Mrs. Emelie Zamzow died Feb 27, 1927. In 1929 he retired from active farming. He was married in 1930 to Mrs. Anna Strenge, who survives him. One son, Arthur, died in infancy. Other survivors are his six children and two brothers, Julius Zamzow of Morgan and August Zamzow of Clements.
