Solomon Phillips died in Edgecombe County, NC, in 1797, leaving behind a large family that eventually spread throughout the southern states. His grandson, David Taylor Phillips, settled in Tattnall County, GA.A century and a half later, some of his descendants still live around Altamaha Community, while others have established homes across the U.S.Some of David's papers were passed along to me, his great-great-grandson, and in those tattered documents I found the beginning of the search for my roots. For over 15 years, I have studied countless documents, looking for clues to help me learn about the men and women whose lives made my life possible. Some day I hope to assemble enough information to create a book that might help future generations understand who these people were.My hope for this site is that it will provide a useful tool for others in their searches. I have recently updated the page to remove information on persons who are currently living. This was necessary to protect individuals' privacy. If you find your name and want it to be removed, please contact me. Please let me know if any of my information is incorrect. Also, please share your knowledge so that it might be passed on to others. Thank you for stopping by.
