My 6X Great Grandfather Jonathan Plowman Jr. was a son of an indentured servant who came over at age 12 from Yorkshire, England. He became a very wealthy merchant a leading importer of indentured servants in 1750s and 1760s.A Baltimore, MD town council member, Justice of the peace, lawyer, and Patriot for the American Revolution.Signed Oath of Allegiance and sent his merchant ships out to be privateers.He set up factories to replace the items no longer available from England as well.A member of Maryland Militia during the Wilderness wars as well. |
