Notes for Chad Wesack:
Chad died as a result of an Amana Refrigeration worker rushing home after the second shift. The worker ran a stop sign and hit Chad on the drivers side of of the familys Chev Caviler.
Rescue personnel from Middle Amana arrived at the seen and requested the jaw of life to be brought in from Marengo. He was trapped in the car for some time.Once he was freed from the vehicle, he was flown to Cedar Rapids Mercy Hospital where
he was pronounced dead.Steve and Karen (Parents) were called from the hospital about 2:20 Am Saturday morning. As they went to the hospital, they came accros the accident realizing that it was their car. The car had been loaded onto a truck.
The family only saw the passengers side of the vehicle and did not see the drivers side.
Both cars were impounded.Aparently the driver of the car has a long record of driving violations. As one officer put it "we will be charging this man with Vehilcluar Homicide.'The officer thought he was traveling at a high rate of speed
when he ran the stop sign.
