Notes for David Dunlap:
David Dunlap was the first of his line to immigrate to America between 1780-1784. These dates ere established by the birth of his son.
In the Memoirs of Georgia, Volume 2 in an article on David C. Dunlap the statement is
made that David Dunlap was a Revolutionary War Soldier. This article also reveals that
David Dunlap moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was among one of the first settlers.
There are land grants to men named David Dunlap fated. 1785, 1791 and 1797. It is
thought that that one of these land grants was to our particular David Dunlap, and
was granted for Military Service in the Revolutionary War. All of these land grants
werein the 96th District of South Carolina.
