Interested in emigration PRIOR to 1790 of anyPYBURN (Pybourne, Pyburne, Piborn, Pibourne, and many other spelling variations),especially those who settled in, or near, Maryland. Have some information on other Pyburns in Maryland around that time but have no evidence of connections to our line, and no info on where they originated - although name is known to have been in England,Scotland, and Ireland at various times.(Earliest known :Joseph Jones of Anne Arundel County, MD. married a Mary PYBERN of Prince Georges County, MD. on 10 Dec. 1704;anda will ofJohnPIBORN, Sr,of Prince Georges County, MD, in 1747 .) Specifically interested in Lewis Pyburn's parents, siblings, or other relatives -Lewis Pyburn married Nancy(maiden name unknown)in Maryland before 1790.Oldest child, son Enos, born abt 1790. Other children, 2 sons, Lewis, Jr. &Robert (Robin).Entire family left Maryland some years after 1790 and moved South, including New Madrid, MO, by 1811.Displaced by New Madrid Earthquake of 1811-12, they went on to settle in Louisiana. Will be happy to exchange information. | The Lewis PYBURN Family Home Page Updated September 5, 2000 |
