Searching for the descendants of Charles William Pyne and Jane Reid. Charles, believed to be born in NS or NB in the early 1800s, was a United Empire Loyalist descendant. He and his Irish-born immigrant wife Jane, before or after their July 31, 1850 marriage, relocated in the Crosby, Leeds TWP, ON area where they raised ten children. The names and birth-dates of their children follow:
1) Harriet, May 27, 1851; 2) Julia, January 28, 1853; 3) Emley, April 15, 1854; 4) Robert, September 19, 1855; 5) Almeda, March 05, 1858; 6) William Douglas, June 03, 1861; 7) Alpheus, July 02, 1863; 8) Charles, August 25, 1865; 9) Letitia, August 04, 1866; 10) George, September 04, 1867.
Any responses from descendents or acquaintances would be greatly appreciated and all will be acknowledged. To date I have successfully made contact with a descendant of Almeda and wish to hear from others in order that we too, may share gathered information.
Incidentally, my great-grandfather Alpheus, at approximately forty years of age, was gored to death by a bull. This unfortunate happening made it necessary for my grandfather Disraeli, the eldest of seven children, to abandon his then wishful theology career; remaining instead, on the farm with his mother Julia [Knowlton] and siblings. After his October 28, 1913 marriage to Mary Edna Glackin of Toronto they relocated in the Nipawin, SK area where he resumed farming and they remained until their deaths in 1958 and 1969 respectively.
