In just over a year I am amazed at how much I have been able to discover about the proud history of our Ralston family. I still feel like I have only scratched the surface. In the past few months, some other researchers have nearly convinced me that the Ralstons on the ship "Strafford", sailing from Londonderry, Ireland, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1803, may not actually be our ancestors, but rather the aunt and cousins of our ancestors.Several tell me that our ancestors actually came to Pennsylvania in the mid-1700's.I am still working to find more about this possibility.
I do know for sure that our forefathers first established themselves in Nippenose, Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; then migrated on to Harmony Township, Morrow County, Ohio; and Milton Township, Wood County, Ohio, prior to coming to Casey Township, Clark County, Illinois in 1908.
Please contact me if you have any information to add to our family tree or if you find something that is not correct. If you are of our same Ralston lineage, please drop me a note. It would be great to get to know you.
Along with information about my Ralston family, I have also included on this page the family history for the Hunt family (my paternal grandmother's family), the Claypool family (my maternal grandfather's family), and the Wright family (my maternal grandmother's family).
