Rash Roots
Richard Joseph Rash [email protected] The origin of the Patriarch of the Rash clan is still a mystery, although we have a lot of circumstantial evidence, accurate documentation still eludes us. Some say that Joseph sr. came to Virginia from Delaware, where the Rash name was already prominent in the early 1700,s. There is also some very convincing evidence that he arrived in Virginia in 1736/1737,on the convict ship Dorsetshire, From Middlesex county,London England,Captained by William Loney. This Joseph seems to me to be the most likely one to be the patriarch of this line of the Rash family. Until we can come up with some more documented evidence ,I will follow this line, If anyone has something to add or can correct something in this genealogical experiment,Please E-mail me and we will correct it. This genealogy will always be under construction, and open to all comments. I have also included my Mothers family(Painter),for those interested,I must add that some of this family is also circumstantial, due to the lack of census reports before the years of 1790 and 1800 in the state of Virginia. I would like to thank Rebecca Falin,Betty Lightner,Richard Rash jr.,Judith Trent,Eva Rhodes(Rash),Freddie Rash and all the other friends and family who have helped to make this report possible. _________________________________________________________ "To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child.
