Please help me discover my Rawert/Wolskermann Heritage....Henry Gerhard RAWERT andhis brother Herman along with 'Anna' Rawert sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the ship 'Admiral' and it is told after 6 weeks of high winds that some days blew them back farther than they had gone the previous day, they finally (according to the transcribed Admiral's passenger list), arrived in NY on Sep 18, 1867.A passenger Franziska Fifus (Pfeifus) destination Cincinatti was on board in another party. She later married my GGfather's brother Herman. I remember faint echoes of a story of a shipboard romance. They were farmers coming to a new world, specifically Louisville, KY where the settled, married and raised families of which I am part.Henry G. was my greatgrandfather. Marry Anna was his wife and her maiden name is unknown (possibly Vielhaus').Their first son, Herman, my grandfather, was born in 1871, and then his brother Frank W. was born in 1875.Herman married Catherine A. WOLSKERMAN.Herman died in 1956 and Catherine in 1945.His brother Frank married Elizabeth Lichtefeld.II know very little of my greatgrandparents life and their roots in Germany.I remember Herman who died when I was 9, but my grandmother died before I was born. She had 9 kids. Henry the eldest died at age 22 in a motorcycle accident, and my Dad Norb who was the youngest, was born when his mom was 46!!My goal is to learn more about why Henry et.al.came to the US and more about their lives and those of their families.I also want to find any other lost relatives out there, either in Germany or the U.S..I will then publish a genealogy/history book on 6 generations of Rawerts .If you have any information which could help me discover my family's past, please contact me.Likewise if you can use any info I've already collected, let me know.Thank You,CAROL RAWERT TRAINER
