His son Lawrence, a Lt. in the army of King Charles the First, was captured in the battle of New Castle On-Tyne, by forces of Oliver Cromwell.His lands were sequestered by Parliment and sold.
Lawrence recieved special permission from Lord Fairfax to go to the New World.
Samuel Wilkinson the oldest son of Lawrence was the Grandfather of Stephen Hopkins the Govenor of Rode Island, he was the last signer of the Declaration Of Independance.
