THE RENGER FAMILY IN BRAZIL
My family immigrated from several regions of Germany (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Silesia, Pomerania) to Blumenau in Brazil, between 1852, when the colony of Blumenau was founded, and 1865. The first immigrations I could trace back were ALEXANDER BUERGER from Silesia, probably Görlitz, on board of ship Fortuna in 1857, and of JOACHIM ERDMANN and CATHERINE HORSTMANN, from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, who arrived on board of ship Urania in 1863.HEIDRICH and STAHNKE immigrated about the same time, but I don't have any information yet from their ports of departure and arrival. My father RUDOLF HEINZ immigrated in 1926 from Erlangen, Franken and my husband in 1970 from Berlin, but was born in Saxonia. I would like to share my researches with others and be very grateful to anyone who could add some information to my genealogical tree. | THE RENGER FAMILY IN BRAZIL Updated January 24, 2009 |
