Family History for Jen
Updated January 18, 2002Joyce M Reynolds | Happy Birthday Jen! You have expressed a desire that we preserve your family history while Grandma can still provide us with information. This web site only shows a small portion of the information that has been collected with Grandma's help. She bought us a scanner for Christmas so we could scan copies of the antique pictures and documents like birth and wedding certificates. We are continuing to do research and want to wait to do color printing for you until the different family sections are more complete.Your Dad is going to get a copy of Aunt Sib's research into his side of the family on his next trip to Vermont so that information can be added also. The information on my maternal grandfather's side goes back to just before the Civil War when the Lape brothers immigrated from Germany.Grandma says that her paternal grandmother, Nancy Finella Brown Lape, was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.I have contacted them about membership and access to the records they must have for her going back to the Revolutionary War.Your Aunt Sib also has records on your Dad's family going back to the Revolutionary War so you are qualified by both sides of the family to be a member as soon as we can obtain complete documentation. Narratives of information I recorded while working with Grandma is considered "private" because she is still living and therefore it is not posted on the web. Those naratives and other items that could be printed in black and white have been mailed to you, but a nicer printing will be done and placed in a book for you when the information is more complete. If Steve wants to gather information from Tom and Bertha, we can add information about his family history as well so you will have complete family history to pass on to your children in the future. Hope you enjoy this birthday surprise. We love you! |
