|Green Briar National Forest in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia continues to be the location for our family reunions. This year we came together on Saturday, 31 July 1999 - a very hot day indeed. We did not have as good a turn-out as we did last year.I guess it was too hot for some and others had sick family members to attend to.Still we had a nice visit with everyone and a hearty meal - as usual.Jim and I visited the cemetery at Sinks Grove Baptist Church - about 40 minutes from Green Briar.Unfortunately, we did not learn much new since most of the older Reynolds' grave site stones were unreadable and the Church had no additional records. We did visit Jim's Granddad's (James Henry) grave so that made it worthwhile.|
Since it seems that most family members are coming from Virginia, we are considering moving the location of the reunion to Douthat State Park in Millboro, Va. and the date to early summer - June time frame. We'll see what happens but for now we have the 29th of July 2000 (same Pavilion) reserved at Green Briar.
I have not had much success adding new individuals to our Family Tree this year.I have been able to get confirmation and details on some partial information I already had, though.I'll keep checking my favorite sites - more census and vital record info. is being put out on the InterNet everday - just never know when I'll find the missing pieces.
