|I hope to be able to share information with anyone who has an interest in any of my families.I have removed references because some people prefer that their e-mail addresses not be posted and because e-mail addresses change.I have tried to identify in my own database where each piece of information came from and I'm happy to share that information with anyone connected to the family. Please e-mail me at the above address.|
I am researching MUNROs who came from Argyleshire, Scotland to Elgin Co., Ontario, Can.In Argyle, John MUNRO, tenant of Fearnoch, was father of Donald MUNRO.They were my 5th and 4th g-grandfathers.Donald's son, my g-g-g-grandfather, Neil MUNRO, and his wife Agnes MCPHERSON, brought their seven sons to settle in Elgin Co., Ontario, in 1827. A daughter was born after their arrival in Canada. My g-grandfather changed the spelling of our name to MONROE after they migrated to MI in 1882 but the other lines of the family retained the MUNRO spelling. There are also MCCOWANs, CAMPBELLs, MCINTYREs, MCCOLLs and other Scottish lines that intermarried with the MUNROs.
I'm interested in finding more of my husband's RITTER family. His g-grandfather's name was Jacob. Jacob's grandfather and father (Simon and John) went from PA to Erie Co. NY (possibly via Seneca Co., NY) prior to 1840.Jacob came to MI by 1880.My husband's grandfather, Peter Eugene RITTER married Laura SMITH and lived outside Detroit, MI in Macomb Co.Also looking for KLINSMANNs from MN.I would be interested in hearing from anyone with a connection to any KLINSMANNs with any spelling as there appear to be few in this country. My husband also descends from the family of Arent Isaaczen VAN HOOK who came to New Amsterdam in the 1600s.
On my mother's side I'm looking for ancestors of Thomas M. DENTON who married Sally A. B. WESTBROOK in 1859 in Williamson Co. TN and settled in Lafayette Co., MS.Also a Thomas T. DENTON probably born in Halifax Co., VA in about 1826.I'm also interested in GOFORTHs and LANCASTERs in MS, NC, SC.
I have discovered that on my mother's side I am part of the family of Colonel George ESKRIDGE.I have collected some of that family information from a variety of sources and have posted it here for others to critique.I have not researched this information but will be happy to let you know where I "collected" the information.I have removed the information about "Kentucky George" and his descendants because it is unknown where he fits in the family.I welcome any additions or corrections.
