In James Peden Ritchie's birth certificate his time and date of birth were given as 2:20 a.m. on the 7th March 1895 at 212 Elliot Street, Glasgow. His parents are given as Alexander Ritchie (Railway Brakesman) and Mary Ritchie (Nee Peden). James Peden Ritchie's parents were married in the Hutchesontown District of Glasgow on the 4th April 1884. His birth was registered on the 28th March 1895.
