In the marriage certificate it states that James Scrannage, aged 21, bachelor (basket maker) of Brettell Lane married Ann Maria Tomkins, aged 20, spinster of Stourbridge on the 3rd December 1865 at Trinity Church in the Parish of Amblecote in the county of Staffordshire. The fathers are given as Henry Scrannage (brewer) and William Tomkins (forgeman). Both parties signed their own names. The witnesses were Nekemiah Wainwright (signed) and Mary Thetley (cross).
