From Wesley B. Keeler:earth.vol.com/~keel/
"A 1987 letter from Terence P. Forin of Victoria, B. C., Canada, informed me that Joseph's wife was Olive Scripture, born circa 1769 in Massachusetts, daughter of Jerimiah and Jane Scripture (? Abigail). Terence said the will of Jerimiah (his spelling), who died 6 May 1811 in Rutland, VT, is on file in Pittsfield, MA. He said Olive Keeler died 12 April 1845 at Colborne. Nancy Foy Cameron of Killiekrankie, Scotland, who did research in Canada in 1990, learned that Joseph married Olive Scripture 11 July 1787 and they had at least three children.
Nancy Cameron reported that Joseph went to Ontario in 1789 and selected land at "Cat Hollow," on a creek halfway between York and Kingston. He began to develop the wharf area and harness the water power."In 1792 or 1793 he arrived at his chosen creek with 40 families of settlers for Cramahe township, and also played a part with 56 settlers in next-door Haldimand township."
