Moor's Regiment in 1800) bought of Aaron James, 27 June 1798, 40 acres, with Mary Barton as a witness, and sold the land 21 March 1803 to John Cox.The name Baverster Barton was in the 1790 Laurens District census" (Stewart 1963, 87-89).

DAR applications for service say he served in Pickens Brigade after the fall of Charleston.Both members (#617343 Add 647 and #639644 Add 682) joined through his daughter Charity (Barton) Rose.See below for more information.
#617343 Add. 647 gives his name also as Babister Bartain, d. Warren Co., KY, betw. 13 May 1813 and October 1813; m. Elizabeth; 1790 census Laurens Co., SC; 1800 census, Pendleton Co., SC, 250-B, h/h 353; 1810 census, Warren Co., KY, p. 268.
Information received 3 February 1996 from Keith F. Rose, 1001 N. 790 E., Lehi, UT, 894033, based on photocopies from a Bavester Barton Family Data book compiled by Mr. W. Clyde Barton, 3604 N.W. 69th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73116.Mr. W. Clyde Barton, then age 80, sent the information to Mrs. O. Joy Sen, a distant cousin of Mr. Rose, in 1983.
In 1983, W. Clyde Barton expected the material to be published in a forthcoming "Book of Barton" edited by Mrs. Brice (Margaret) McCabe.The address he had for her was no longer valid as of February 1996.

Information received 21 March 1996 from Mary Ruth (Odell) Barton, 104 North Sunset Dr., Ithaca, NY 14850.In 1800, the family was in Pendleton District [now Anderson Co.], SC, living on Generostee Cr., near to Hartwell Dam today on the Savannah River.Neighbors on the same plat with a Buchannon family being researched by Anne McCune.
