I am researching the 4 main lines of mine and my wife's families namely, LEBEAU (Bau=Lalouette) from the Montreal/Boucherville, Quebec, Canada area, FERGUSON from the Cornwall, Ontario area, CAVE from the Horning Mills, Ontario area and McNeely originally from New Brunswick, Canada. On the Lebeau side, I have traced a direct line back to Jean Bau in 1640's to the Montreal/Boucherville, Quebec area. The Ferguson side has been traced back to a Peter Ferguson in the late 1700's living in the Charlottenburg township of Glengarry County in Ontario. The Cave side has just recently been started and I have traced that line back to at least 1861 to a James Cave living in the Horning Mills area in the township of Melancthon, Ontario area.Based on the 1871 cencus, it is believed that he immigrated from England, however his wife Margaret and all of his children listed in the 1871 census were reported as being born in Ontario.James is recorded as being 50 years old and therefore that would place his date of birth at around 1821. I could not find reference to this Cave family on the 1861 census for the same township, I will be required to do a little more work on trying to locate him at this time.If what the 1871 census says is true, then the oldest child, James, who is recorded as being 20 years old was born in Ontario, so the elder James had to be in Ontario at least in 1850. The McNeely side has also just recently been started.John McNeely came in Canada in the mid 1800's from Antrim County in Ireland and settled in Canterbury Station, NB.From there he moved to Minnesota in the late 1800's, early 1900's before settling in Warner, AB, Canada around 1913. In addition to the above, I am also researching my step-Father's family from Germany.I currently have information dating back to the mid 1800's from all four sides of his family but only for the direct decendants with no siblings being recorded yet. Any information would be appreciated.I am also willing to share the information that I have.
