The McKinney Family Tree ( Deep Are Our Roots)Updated August 1, 2008
|Welcome to the McKinney Family Tree Page.|
I am Karen L. Rush and I am continuing the research started by my beloved Aunt Davene McKinney and finishing her booklet entitled, "Deep Are Our Roots" I have entered over 1200 names in our family tree Starting From Warren County, Georgia with our 1st generation of A little slave girl named Nancy and her Slave owner Moses McKinney Jr.,(who originated from Scottland then to Virginia, then to Alabama) all the way to the ninth generation in Coosa County, Alabama. Nancy And Moses McKinney gave Birth to Eliza, who was willed to Moses' Brother Harris McKinney and after the death of her slave Owner/father of some of her children, she went on to marry another slave named Morris McKinney. My Great-Grandfather, Lewis McKinney,(Married Kate Marbury) was the oldest of Eliza's 8 children. His siblings in birth order were, Winney Robinson (Squire), Charlotte (Lottie)Whitaker (Levi), Ben McKinney, William Hayes McKinney (Mary Harp), Betty, Jody, Mary F. (who was blind at birth) My grandfather Lewis McKinney also had 9 children. I need information on a few that I haven’t met descendents from yet, the (children are William Hayes McKinney (Lovly Moore), Eliza Willis (Robert), James G. McKinney (Comilla Goggins), Mary Lou Mitchell (July), Lewis McKinney, Ocie McKinney (Elizabeth Gothwait), Aurelia Leonard (J. Parsons), Kelly McKinney (Annie Mae & Mabel) and My Grandfather Robert Vasser McKinney (Marguerite Robnett then Mattie Bass Robinson). Please Help me complete the tree by sending me any information you have about your branch of the Family that looks familiar to you. Exciting News, Dates, pictures, Relationships and states of residence, etc.... I am willing to share what I have also. Please if there are any corrections to be made, Spellings, Relationships, dates etc., Please contact me immediately for corrections. I also need pictures of deceased family members and current pictures to add to the site.
