|We are working hard on our July 7,8 2007 Stooksbury Reunion. It will be at the Norris Middle School (former Norris High School) in Norris, Tennessee and the whole family is welcome! There will be family history information, professional genealogist Clay Patterson (www.rosecrag.com) will have a booth, food, booths from the Union County Historical Society and local civic clubs, prizes, speakers from the East Tennessee Historical Society, recording artist Richard Stooksbury from Nashville (www.richardstooksbury.com), a group picture (using an older large format camera with professional photographer Mr. St. John from Morrison,Tn.) and many tables full of information. Our goal is to reconnect with lost family members, meet new ones, and learn more about our proud heritage. We are trying to gather family recipes, pictures and pictures of artifacts (Grandad's rifle, etc.) so please round these up and bring em' along. The reunion is free to attend, although donations at the door will be appreciated, and we assure you of a fun filled day packed with everything you ever wanted to know about a Stooksbury, Stooksberry, Stookesberry, Stukesbury, Streachbury or Stokesbury. On Sunday we will be taking caravan trips to local cemeteries and places of interest and have further discussion groups. Letters have been sent, but feel free contact us with questions and please pass the word to your family members. |
Also, see the links below for more Stooksbury information. The DNA project link is very exciting! We encourage all males with the surname Stooksbury to participate and help solve a lot of questions about our heritage.
Learn about your family's history!
