|The Weems Family in America can trace its ancestry back through the ages to the middle of the tenth century AD.From|
William Anderson's book The Scottish Nation, published in 1874 we verify that the family of Wemyss was at that time, "believed, the only ancient family in the lowlands having a really Celtic origin, and one of the few great families in Scotland which, through the male line, can claim kindred with Celtic blood".Let me take you on a journey of ancient Celtic people through the genealogy of my family, the Weems Clan from the Clan McDuff in Scotland and the Morrison Clan form the Northern shores of the island of mist and mysteries on the westernmost rim of Europe of the Romans' time, Hibernia, or better known to us as, Ireland.
My research began after the death of my grandfather, Lewis T. Morrison in1992.I have detailed information on both the paternal and faternal family lines of my grandmother, Mary Jane Weems, Lewis T.'s wife. The primary family names included in my research are: Morrison, Weems, Pierce, Bullis, Goudy, Harvey, Stine, Lunger, Hann, Scales, & Martin.Of course not all are of Celtic breeding, but we just won't dwell on that fact.
For some very ancient Celtic links look at the Weems Clan as it emerged from Scotish Royalty in my Genealogy Report listing the decendents of Crinan, liked to this home page.
