Notes for Bonnie Jean Garrett:
Bonnie - Bonnie - Bonnie, what a delightful gift God has sent me with her.I Loved her from the moment I saw her breath-taking image and heard her sweet voice on TV.She wouldn't have anything to do with me at first, but persistence paid off.Bonnie is the most genuine, original, kindest, most loving and caring person I have met since my Mom.I am truly a lucky guy to have the same deep emotion for one who gives it back doubly to me.
She is a delightful girl who lights up the room when she enters - makes one feel lucky to be in her presence. She has an endearing way of looking directly and exclusively at who she is having a discussion which I find a grand form of compliment. Her organization skills are legendary and precise and to the point. She loves to talk, but does not mince words. She has so many friends that she could run for office. She has become fast friends with my daughters and always keeps those home fires burning. She tries to help and enjoy things with them without getting in the way.I believe the girls return that friendship equally.
She attended the University of Akron, Kent State University, and Cuyahoga Community College, all in Ohio. She has the inborn intelligence level of a PHD, but had to stop short of that degree.
She joined the United States Air Force as an adventurous teenager and did, believe it or not, Jet Aircraft Maintenance. She stayed in the United States Air Force Reserve after discharge from active duty.
My cousin Matt Darnell wrote a delightful book of biographies for his female ancestors called "Gritty Grandmas"where he describes his wife as the grittiest of them all.I think Bonnie would be equal to that rank too because she is what they refer to as "A Hot Ticket" in Boston. It is not surprising that she is related to Susan B (Brownell) Anthony.Bonnie grew up in Seneca Falls, NY, the origin of the
Elizabeth Cady Stanton movement and where the Women's Rights National museum now stands. To describe her as independent would be telling only a small portion of the story.Bonnie's theme is "The Queen does not cook!" which describes her working woman's attitude, and "a place for everything, and everything in its place" sums up her domestic philosophy.I dubbed her "The Queen" years ago because my own Mom was a neat-freak too and as I grew up at home, given daily cleaning chore
lists, I would protest that, "Are we waiting for a visit from the Queen?"Later, I told my Mom, "Well, I found out who the Queen was and it was Bonnie we were waiting for."
Besides being my romantic and philosophic soul-mate, she is truly my BEST, best friend.
