George Elbert bullard was known as "Bert."He was killed in a car
accident -- it is believed that someone must have run him off the road
and hehit a bridge abuttment.Information from personal knowledge of
wife Winnie MaeBeth Spillers Bullard & Richard Allen Bullard, his nephew
as well as a newspaper article.
Driver Killed When Truck Hits Bridge
A 50-year-old Banning man was apparently killed instantly yesterday
morning when the vehicle he was driving struck a concrete bridge
abuttment.His death brought the traffic fatality toll on San Bernardino
county streets and highways to 188 since Jan. 1.
Dead is George Elbert Bullard of 1931 W. Nicolet St.,San
Bernardino Deputy Coroner A.J. McCann said.
Bullard was involved in an accident 2.2 miles north of Wildwood
Canyon Road on south Oak Glen Road near Oak Glen.The accident occurred
at 8:10 a.m.The crash was discovered at 9:50 a.m.
California Highway Patrol officers said the wreck was found by Chet
Handley of Beaumont.
Officers said it appeared the truck driven by Bullard, traveling
south on Oak Glen Road, crossed the highway, traveled about 30 feet on
the dirt shoulderof the north bound lane, and struck the cement bridge.
A coroner's autopsy ispending, Deputy McCann said.
The body was taken to Emmerson's Mortuary in Yucaipa.
