Looking threads leading to Edward R.Potz from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Married Emma Downs1850/1880. Edward was a silversmith in Middleburg, VA. Had two children Edna and Herbert.Also Frank G. Simons(Simmons) from Frankfurt Germany(?) 1850/1870 to St. Louis, MO.
1st wife Barbara Kolor(Kolar) Born in Hungary(?)
2nd Wife's name Ida, born in Bohemia Czechoslavakia)(?) around 1880'S.
Frank had a son Frank George Jr. by his first wife, and two children, Earl and Goldie by the second wife.
St. Louis Census records prior to 1900 were supposedly destroyed in a fire. Is there a way around this road block? I thought ALL census records were kept in Washington DC. Do I now have to go there to continue my search?
