|I am researching the family of David Caldwell and Mary Ann Vaughan, who were married May 14, 1813, in Glasgow, Scotland. They came to Canada on the ship Commerce, as members of the Bridgeton Transatlantic Emigration Society. They settled in Lanark Village, Lanark County, Ont., where they remained until the 1840s, when they became Mormons, and set out with most of their children for Utah. Their eldest son, John Caldwell, marriedAgnes White, daughter of another Society settler, and had eighteen children. He lived in Lanark County until his death in 1898.|
I am also researching the family of Michael Kehoe and Harriett West, who came to Canada from Ireland some time before 1833. They
settled in Belleville, Ont., and are shown living there on the
1871 census of Ontario. Living with them are their daughters, Margaret, Mary, and Harriett, and a young man named Amos, aged 22, who may have been an employee, or a relative. Their son, Michael, jr., also lived in Belleville at this time, with his wife Christine Bradford. Michael jr., and his family moved to the Orillia, Ont., area in the late 1880s.
Other surnames associated with these families are: Larocque, Love, Craig, Bulloch, Traill, Virgin, McIlraith, McIntosh, Reid, Black, Duncan, Burnett, Brooks, Hastings, Clark, Cardinal, Munro,
Keating/Keaton, Khull, Barr, Vaughan...
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to share the information I have.
