Educated in England, "Merchant Tailor's School" 1658.Upon father's death, inherited Warner Hall estate.Sat in House of Burgesses; 1676, became Speaker of HB, shortly became Councillor also.Participated in petitionsto king etc for "redress of grievances" April 2, 1676/7.Strong supporter of Gov. Berkeley, "seems to have been a rather thorough Royalist in his convictions"(50).Bacon's Rebellion - B made his headquarters for a time at Warner Hall."List of Sufferers from Bacon's Rebellion," in 1677, mentions Warner being "plundered," suffered many losses.W was" Speaker of Assembly at whose bar Bacon was forced to kneel & sue for pardon."
