Maricay and Hannah were freed in about 1808 by Daniel Midyett.
Maricay went to Mount Pleasent to Joined the household of Bannister and Celia Pugh Midyett.in 1824 Bannister died and America Sr. was to sold,Oliver O'Neal paid half intrest in him and the Midyett heirs retained the other half keeping him in the family.America Midyett Sr. died about 1849 and is buried in the Nathan O'Neal cemetery at Mount Plesant.
Maricay was a mestizo ( a Indian) from a place in Venezuela called Maracay.
