My search for ancestors has certainly been a challenge, thanks in part to the way the Danish/Swedish peoples named thier Children. So far I have traced my family back to the early 1800's
and the First one I have found was Hans Pedersen, Who was married to Ane Nielsdater, sometime before June 02, 1818, because thats when Soren Larsen/Larson came along. He married, Ane Marie Sorensen, on the 24th of April, 1844. From that union Came My Great Grandfather, Martin Johann Sorensen, born March 28, 1854, in Hjallerup, Denmark. Tinus, born about 1857, Leno peters/Peders, born about 1862, Hjallerup, Denmark, Annie Marie, born March9, 1845, Hjallerup, Denmark, and Martha Margrethe/a,born Oct. 23, 1848.It is unclear at this time if any of the other Childrenkept the name of Larsen or did as My Great Grandfather did and took the name of Sorensen. Martin (My Great Grandfather) was somehow attached to a lady known only as Mary, and from That union, Came my Grandfather, Julius Andrew Sorensen.Martin then married, Anna Marie Jensen, born Febr. 15, 1863, and with her, My Grandfather Julius, and 4 half Brothers and sisters Chris, Mary, Herman, and Alma, They came toAmerica, where they established the rest of the family of 12 Children total, adding Frank, Annie, Angus, Carrie, Emmett, and Martha Christina. And so the story and search Goes on.
