Johann Julius was called by His middle name Julius, He was born in Wymyslowo, Kreis Mogilno, Bezirk Bromberg, Prussia on June 16, 1863 to Johann Steinhilber and Anna Rosina Pohl. Julius was the youngest of four children that are known of at this time, He had two brothers August, and Wilhelm as well as one sister, the name of the sister is not known. When Julius was approximately. six months old His father died of some type of flu that swept thru the area taking approximately. seventeen lives in that area.
Julius wasmarried for the first time in approximately. 1890 to Auguste Schramm,
together they had two children that are known of, the first was Helene, and the second child nothing is known about it except that it died at approximately. three months of age. Auguste died of tuberculosis in Abt. April of 1897 and Julius was remarried Abt. three months later ( July 27, 1897 in Rosenau ) to Martha Marie Luise Schütte ( Luise ), there were eight children in this marriage
Otto Karl, Paul Max, Meta Martha, Willi August, Frieda Luise, Max Ewald,
Erich Emil, and Martha. The second child in the first marriage lived approximately.one week into the second marriage.
Julius worked in the flour mill of his brother Wilhelm before he was married in 1890, after he married Auguste he took over a farm in Lukaszewko, Kreis Gnesen from his Father in law and resided there until the later part of 1906 when he purchased a farm in Striesen, Kreis Gnesen ( now Strsyzewo Pacz:kowe, Poland ) from his second Father in law and resided there until his death on January 4, 1933 at about 11pm. ( the official records indicate Jan. 6, 1933 as the date of death but information from his children indicates Jan. 4, 1933 ). Julius retired from farming in 1931 when his son Max got married and took over, Max was already working with his father on the farm prior to 1931.
At the time of his death Julius was suffering from severe headache and a heated sensation on his forehead, his son Max would apply a cold wet cloth to his forehead to relieve some of the discomfort and pain, until suddenly just before 11pm he said it was enough with the cold cloth took a few gasping breaths and died.
Julius semi retired in Oct. 1925 when his daughter Frieda got married.
Frieda and Her husband Adolf operated half the farm while Julius worked the other half, in Nov. 1931 when his son Max married Julius retired and Max took over his fathers part of the farm and in the spring of 1932 Frieda and her husband moved to a farm of their own and Max took over the entire operation.
Up until this time Frieda lived in the same home with her parents.
