Notes for Nina Margrethe Barstad:The marriage of Marga Barstad and Lyder Strom was perhaps doomed from the word go.According to my mother, Unni Lunde Stitt, they were both very active in matters of politics.However, they espoused conflicting views and were said to be known to give speeches at opposite ends of the square to that effect.
Marga Barstad was much more fortunate in her second marriage.Not only did she find a man of sterling quality who cared deeply for her, but a man who opened his heart to her daughter Elisa, and adopted her.
The divorce and remarriage caused quite a scandal as far as the Barstad family was concerned.Daughter Ingerid went to live with the Barstads and it appears may even have dropped the last name Strom.
