|I am researching the Strahan Family which desecended from Alexander Strahan in the 1700s. Alexander was born in Somerset County, MD in 1682, the son of David and Elizabeth Strahan.Alexander and Elizabeth had three sons, Othneil, John, and David.Alexander moved into New Hanover County, NC as early as 1724 when he received a land grant from the Colonial Governor of North Carolina. Alexander owned a plantation located between the Black River and one fork of the Cape Fear River.|
Moses Strahan, Sr., son of Othneil Strahan, was born in New Hanover County, NC in 1757.He moved with his wife Rachel Howard into Scriven County, GA in the late 1700s, then into Hancock County, MS (1820-1830) , and finally into Copiah County, MS (after 1830) where he died in 1833. The descendents Moses Sr. today live in Mississippi, southeastern Louisiana, and Nacogdoches County, Texas.
