|Welcome to My Family|
Nelson descendents on September 26, 2002 celebrated the 300th Anniversery of when John Nelson, Jr. and wife Ann Bell came into Bath, with father & mother John Nelson, Sr. and wife Jane,& their daughters Elizabeth, Mary and sons Thomas & Aron Nelson, other passengers were Judith Woodis and William Capps. 12 passengers in all for which John Nelson, Jr. received his Grant Patent. Descendants were literally from all over the United States. Future reunions are planned yearly. If any of these Nelson are of your Nelson lines we'd certainly like to hear from you.
Our Scurr's came from several places in Yorkshire, aboard the Albion to Ft. Lawrence,NS in May 1774. In 1785 they removed to Princess Anne Co. VA. Elizabeth Scurr m. Jeremiah Land and by 1797 were in Currituck County, NC and also along was Elizabeth's brother John Scurr and his family. When the Albion reached NS, there was Small-pox aboard and the Gov. parked a schooner near the Albion to prevent anyone from disembarking. We'd like to find more Scurr descendents and add to our lines.
Our Delamar lines came from Boucre, Calais, France- the original spelling was De La Maire.
The Bell's came from Pasquotank County to Currituck County and then into Carteret Co. NC. There were not in Carteret County until the 1718 Tax List. They were in Bath, Matchepungo area now Hyde County where we believe Joseph Bell's daughter Ann met and eventually married John Nelson, Jr. by 1699. Any help on our Bell research would be greatly appreciated.
Our 'brick-wall' is William Buxton Williams from Franklin Co. NC,married in VA and lived there until sometime before 1855 when they removed to Warren Co. NC. Who were his parents and sibblings. Help greatly appreciated with his Williams line.
