My father's family came from Germany by way of France in 1751. The original family name was Zweyer. Hans George Zweyer arrived in this country accompanied by his wife Mary Julianna Zweyer and several children. Stephannus Zweier was his oldest son, he married Anna Marie Stahl and had eight children. His youngest son was John Anthony Sweier. John Anthony married Elizabeth Arnold and they had eight children. Their oldest son was Joseph Swoyer who married Margaret Klutsenker and had five children, the oldest of which was John Franklin Swoyer. John Franklin married Elisabeth Sellman and had eleven children. Henry Albert Swoyer was their fourth child. He married Sylvia Comyford. There were three children from this union. My father, John Gerald Swoyer, Sr., was the second.
Swoyer family names of interest are Comyford, Wilder, Burton, Kirkman, Tyson, Klutsenker, and Trebon.
My mother's family came to this country from Ireland. Edward Manley, Sr. was a teenager when he arrived in this country in 1847. He later married Mary Dunbar who had arrived here from Ireland the same year. They had eight children. The oldest, Bryan Manley married Julia Lavelle and had seven children of his own. Their fourth child was Eddie Manley. He married Edna Irene Christian. There were three children from this union. My mother, Carol Lee Manley, was the third.
Manley family names of interest are Christian, Swope, Peterson, Erickson, Olson, Lavelle, and Dunbar.
