|The Hoffelmeyer's from Saint Joseph, Missouri can trace their family history back to the Lemforde - Brockum area of Germany. Four brothers, Heinrich, Frederic, Wilhelm, and August, all sons of Frederic Hoffelmeyer and Minnie Hullen,were born in this area once known as the Kingdom of Hanover.|
Heinrich, went to London, England sometime in the early 1860's then on to America arriving in 1865. He stayed in the country a few years before returning to Germany where he married. After his marriage he and his wife returned to America where he settled near Amazonia, Missouri.
Frederic, went to London England where he married and had three children. After the death of his son in 1873 and his wife in 1875 Frederic returned to Germany with his two daughters. The two daughter years later did come to America.
Wilhelm, came to America in 1871, settled near Amazonia , Missouri where he married and raised his family.
August, arrived in America in 1881 and lived with his brothers. He drowned in a local creek in 1886 a day before he was to be married.
Heinrich and Wilhelm both passed away in Saint Joseph, Missouri while it is believed Frederic passed away in the Lemforde area of Germany.
