Home Page for Synan-Perdue, Newman, and Sparks
The Synan surname is of Norman-Irish extraction. The Irish component comes through those Synans who settled in the Doneraile, County Cork area of southern Ireland beginning late in the twelveth century. In the early 1800's several branches were established in the United States. One in Louisa County, Virginia, one in Zanesville, Ohio and one in Fall River, Massachuets. This site deals with the Louisa County, Virginia Branch of the Synans and with the Perdues from Peeled Chestnut Mountain on the Virginia-West Virginia State line near Pocahontas, Virginia. Also included is a tree of Sparks, most recently from the Danville, Virginia area, and with the Newmans, who came through Bedford, Virginia. These trees include considerable information. Any one with information relating to any names in these trees may contact me for further information or contacts.
