|Greetings,I am trying to trace my ancestors. I know this: My great grandfather "FRED TADD SR." was born in 1859 and died in 1945. He married "Elizebeth Bachelor"(1858-1936). He farmed S of Ashton IL on the "Killmer Farm". Left for Melvin IA and bought 240 acres. All five children went with, Bill (1884-1979), Bert (1883-1965), Fred Jr. (1886-1964), Frank (1886-1971) and Etta (1893-1960). After the depression all the kids but Frank my grandfather moved back to Ashton Il. Bert went to Dekalb IL. and was a carpenter. He married Clara Krug. Etta remained in Ashton and married "Henry Year" had a daughter "Ardyce" she died of lung cancer. Bill had a son named "Donald" and was last in Oquawaka IL. Bert had a son named "Clarence" and he was a warden at a prison in PA. "Fred Jr. lived in Ashton and purchased 120 acres N of town. Fred married "Della Heibenthal" had a son "Verlis" he married "Shirley Miller" 1 son died at birth. "Paul" the second child was born in 1946. I have contacted Paul and exchanged info.|
My father Wyman was the son of "Frank" who lost his farm in Toronto SD during the depression, rented land in Clear Lake SD, then he bought a farm by Lake Wilson MN. Frank worked in a gas station in Pipestone MN and my dad "Wyman" worked the farm until being drafted in 1944.
