Ellinger--A Columbus man was found dead in his pickup truck early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Hruska's Store and Bakery in Ellinger.
According to Deputy Randy Noviskie, the store owner notified the Fayette County Sheriff's Department just before 7 a.m.Upon arrival, authorities found Howard Wayne Hajek, 47, of Columbus deceased in the driver's seat of the pickup.
Witnesses reported seeing the pickup in the parking lot Monday night at approximately 8:30 p.m. but did not notice anything unusual.
Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Terry Ross of Fayette County held an inquest at the scene and ordered an autopsy be performed.Noviskie reported the death appeared to be from natural causes.
Fayette County EMS Medic 2 and Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call.

Services for Howard "Pud" Hayek , 47, of Columbus were held March 21 at Henneke Funeral Home at Columbus with the Rev. John Hunsicker officiating.
Burial followed at Hayek Cemetery near Columbus.
Hayek died March 18, 2003 in Ellinger.
He was born Oct. 29, 1955, in Weimar, the son of Fritz and Myrtle Stalbaum Hayek.
Hayek was a self-employed auto mechanic and affiliated withthe Lutheran church .
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ruben, Leroy, Alton Roy, and Herbert Hayek; and half- sister, Annie Solvacek.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey and Carol Hayek of Ellinger, and Joe and Evelyn Hayek of Columbus; three nieces, BarbaraBriscoe of Sheriaen, Stephanie Hayek of Katy, and Karen Hayek Spiro of Dallas; and nephew Deric Hayek of Ellinger.
Pallbearers were J.B. Rogers, Dustin and Reggie Briscoe, Deric Hayek, John Blair and Greg Busselman
