| John Thomas was born to Michal Thomas and Delila King in 1800in Darlington S.C. Seven childred were born to this union. John Thomas married Mary Fields 1n 1830. They had 8 children. Three of these and two sons of another sister came to Texas in 1867 or 68. John W. Thomas and wife Mary McNeese, two sons and 4 step children named Best. Mary Ann D. Thomas and husband Thomas J Sexton and 5 children. Henry B Thomas and wife Frances Northcutt and one child. Two Sammons boys whose mother Elizabeth Thomas and husband had died.
